We’re hiring a Communications and Marketing Director
The Change Climate Project (TCCP) is a fast growing tech nonprofit working to get companies to eliminate carbon emissions. We manage the leading independent certification for corporate climate action, known as The Climate Label, which exists to turn trillions of dollars of consumer purchasing power into demand for corporate climate leadership. We also provide accessible digital tools to spark ambitious climate initiatives. We envision a world where all companies actively fund the climate transition at a scale that matches their emissions, and it’s easy for anyone to verify this action when choosing which companies to support.
The Role
As we look ahead to our next five years of impact, we are searching for a dynamic, seasoned communications and marketing director who is excited to expand our audience, reach, and impact at a critical inflection point for our organization - and the climate movement as a whole. The role would support our three main priorities: to get more companies to become certified; to increase usage of our accessible tools; and to promote awareness and trust in our movement.
You would join our team as we wrap up a major program evolution that positions us well for the next phase of growth in corporate commitments. To execute on our vision, we will need to increase the scale and scope of our communications, reach new audiences, and tell our story in ways that bring new energy to the corporate climate movement as a whole.
Your Responsibilities
You would lead the development and implementation of a marketing and communications strategy to drive awareness, acceptance, and adoption of our certification and tools. You would identify key messages and audiences, and execute the campaigns needed to achieve established goals. You would set a high standard for clarity and approachability across all of our communications. Your work would reach diverse audiences across the business, individual, NGO, and funder universe, so you should be ready and equipped to lead both B2B and B2C communications.
You would be responsible for maintaining our brand identity and keeping it fresh and relevant, so that it remains trusted and preferred by both companies and consumers. This would require you to be strategic about what to change and what to leave alone.
Since we’re a small team, this is a role that requires both thinking and doing.
Your Capabilities and Goals
- At least 10 years of marketing and communications experience
- You’re a planner and a doer with nonprofit experience
- You can write and communicate clearly
- You’ve built and managed successful advocacy and/or demand generation campaigns
- You’ve launched and/or grown a brand, preferably with a consumer audience
- You have excellent project management skills and an ability to prioritize and track details
- You are familiar with sustainability and climate communications
- You have succeeded in a startup environment
If this feels like you - and you’re keen to join a dynamic and fun team that works hard and is all-remote, lives and breathes our mission, loves our dogs and families, and enjoys a great pun - drop us a line! joinus@changeclimate.org
